HORSES FOR V.R.C. MEETING CAULFIELD AND FLEMINGTON MELBOURNE, Oct. 12. The going was good to-day and there were some good gallops. On Flemington course proper Gay Knight and L’Aiglon finished together at the end of a mile run in 1.46. They ' both moved nicely. The last four furlongs took 53sec.

St. Constant was not extended over a mile fun in 1.472, the last half in 522 sec. Gay Romance is all right again, and he ran six furlongs in 1.22, the last two in 26sec. On the tan Princess Pam went a mile in 1.49, going nicely. At Caulfield on the steeplechase grass Respirator beat Tregenna and Pakeho in an excellent six furlongs, run in 1.16. Esperanto and Beau Mari finished together after an impressive four furlongs in 49sec. Marauder, who was very lit, beat Marianne over seven furlongs in 1.31. Earl Bird, moving well, ran six furlongs in 1.175. Fort Regal, who has improved considerably during the last few weeks, beat Lynch Law by two lengths over a mile run in 1.435. Amigo, who is very lit, sprinted five

furlongs in 1.5. Pamelus went five furlongs in 1.6. Bachelor King and Sidcup finished together after covering seven furlongs in 1.30. Hegemonic ran four furlongs in 48sec. On the sand The Trump went an easy seven furlongs in 1.37. Roj>al Chief, after striding, sprinted three furlongs in 41sec. He moved short. Buzalong is suffering from an attack of colic and it is doubtful whether he will start in the Cup. A decision will be made to-morrow. Ena, who has a slight leg injury ran seven furlongs in 1.37. Her connections are hopeful she will be fit to start in the Cup. Othello disappointed yesterday and will not run in the Cup.
