JN pursuance of the Licensing Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, I, Claude Oswald Pratt, Returning Officer for the Patea Licensing District, do hereby give notice that on the 15th. day of October, 1938, the dav appointed for taking the Electoral Poll for the Electoral District of Patea, simultaneously therewith a LICENSING POLL will be taken upon the following proposals:— NATIONAL CONTINUANCE. Nominations of persons to appoint scrutineers in accordance with the Licensing >ct, 1908, and the amendments thereto, in respect of each of the said propesals must be lodged with me not iater than five o'clock in the afternoon of the Bth. day of October, 1938, and I hereby give notice that I shall on the 11th. day of October, 1938, at the hour of 10 o’clock in the forenoon, at my office in Hawera, publicly consider all nomi-nation-papers of persons to appoint scrutineers which have been duly lodged in respect of the said Licensing Poll. NOTICE OF NOMINATION-DAY AND POLLING-DAY JN pursuance of the Electoral Act, 1927, I, Claude Oswald Pratt, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Patea, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ bearing date the 22nd. day of September, 1938, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to sen e as member for the said district, and that the latest hour for receiving nominations of candidates will be noon on the 3rd. day of October, 1938. and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken at the several po?iing-places of the said district on the 15th. day of October, 1938. Every person desirous of becoming a candidate must be nominated by not less than two electors of the district, by a nomination-paper as prescribed by section 110 of the said Act, delivered to the P-eturning Officer on or before NOON on the 3rd. day of October, 1938.
