QUEENSLAND BUDGET
A DEFICIT EXPECTED RAILWAY FARES AND MOTOR FEE TO BE INCREASED BRISBANE, Sept. 23. The State Budget was presented by the Treasurer, Mr. F. A. Cooper, provides for a deficit of £215,774 for the current financial year. Railway fares and freights are to be increased by 51 per cent., and the motor registration fee is also to be raised. It is intended to reduce the relief tax.
