NEW GUINEA
GREAT I UTI RE PREDICTED. Received Aug. 12, 11.55 p.m. BRISBANE, Aug. 12. A great future is predicted for New Guinea by Mr. J. Kjuttschnitt, chairman of New Guinea Goldfields Ltd. He said that New Guinea proper, apart from goldmining, is relatively undeveloped. The country offered great prospects lor the lumber industry, rubber, coffee and copra, but road transportation facilities must be provided without delay. He was convinced that air transport was inadequate and far too expensive.
