THE LONDON MARKET [ Per Pr«i» Association. ] WELLINGTON, Aug. 12. The New Zealand Meat Producers* Board's report on thfc Smithfield market covering the period ended August 11, states that although the market demand for lamb has not been so good owing to the hot weather, prices for primest are firm. Secondary lambs show an easier tendency owing to over-supplies. Wethers and ewes are easier owing to the poor demand. Chilled beef is easier this weeking owing to the very hot weather. The market for New Zealand porker pigs is quiet but seady, excepting heavy weights, which are a shade easier in sympathy with bacon pigs. Bacoi.er pigs are again easier owing to the heavier arrivals and the weaker market. Quotations for boneless bobby veal are nominal. Quotations are as follow: New Zealand Sheep.—Crossbred wethers and or maiden ewes, 481 b. and under, sd; ewes, 481 b. and under, 3 5-Bd. New Zealand Lambs. —Other South Island brands, 37/421b., 7 5-8 d; North Island Downs, second quality, average about 301b5., 7 l-8d; North Island, first quality, 37/421b„ 75d. Australian Lambs.—Not quoted. New Zealand and Australian Frozen Beef.—Not quoted. New Zealand and Australian Frozen Beef.—Not quoted. New Zealand Porker Pigs.—lol/120 lb.. 6 5-8 d; baconer pigs, 121/1601b., 6?d. Boneless Bobby Veal.—Old season’s, ex store in parcels, 4 l-Bd. Chilled Beef.—Prices are an approximate average of the prices realised for the week: New Zealand hinds, 4<d; fores, 22d. Australian hinds, 4id. Union of South Africa hinds, 4 7-Bd. Southern Rhodesian, 4 3-Bd, fores 2*d. Argentine, 6 l-8d; fores, 31d. Uruguayan, 51d; fores, 3d. Brazilian hinds, sd. Others unchanged.
