CHILDREN’S GARDEN CIRCLE

Dear Members, You will all be interested to hear that another Children’s Garden Circle has been formed in New Zealand. This time it is at Waitemata, Auckland. It was launched on Arbor Day and already nearly 100 children have joined. It is being conducted on similar lines to our Circle and it seems that it will soon be a large movement. It has been suggested that members of our Circle should correspond with members of the 'Waitemata Circle, for, in this way, life-long friendships are often made. I will then be pleased to forward any letters on to the Secretary of the Waitemata C.G.C. Please state your age. district and any hobbies when writing. I would also suggest that you start exchanging plants and seeds. This week I have had a very good response to our Golden Chain. I would like every member to join our chain, and please don’t forget to tell me when you have sent your gift of flowers to a sick person. I hope as many as possible will attend the special Friday evening classes held in McGruer’s Hall, also the special classes on Saturdays for novelty gardens. I would also like to remind members to send along their little donation for their birthday cake—currants, raisins, flour, sugar, eggs, etc., are all wanted for your cake, so please send along your share. And so till next week a happy cheerio. Your Gardening Friend, CARNATIC.
