STRIKE THREATENED
MCTORIAX ELECTRICITY ENGINEERS. Received May 25. 11.11 pm. MELBOURNE, May 25. Aoout 200 engineers employed at the Stale Electricity Commission’s powerhouse at Hallourn. which supplies the greater part of Victoria with electricity, are expected to strike on Saturday. They are demand : ng hi .her wages, a 44-hour week ana other concessions which the commission has refused. All efforts to reacn a settlement have failed. As the men concerned are mostly or: maintenance work, it is unlikely that their action would affect the electricity supply unless the strike lasts for a long period or other unions are affected.
