Mr. J. Webb, Taihape, has been elected to the western council of the Royal Agricultural Society. The Rev. P. R. Paris, of Wellington, president of the New Zealam Methodist Conference, is to arrive in Wanganui to-day to participate in the Methodist bi-centenary commemoration banquet to be held this evening. Relerence to the deaths of the late Mr Maurice King, Mr F. Webb Jones, and Mr David Dustin is contained in the annual report of the Wanganui Aero Club, which extends the sympathy of the club to their families and relatives. Mr. C. T. Young, honorary secretary to the Wanganui Rugby Union, has been appointed to represent the union on the Wanganui Referees' Appointment Board, and, in accord with usual custom, to be chairman of that body. Mr, W. Craig, president of the Wanganui Agricultural Association, was elected to the executive committee oi the western council of the Royal Agricultural Association at its annual meeting at Hawera yesterday. Mr. Craig was also elected to the council of the Royal Society. Mr. E. Barnett, accountant at the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative company’s Wanganui office, who has been on sick leave for the past six months, has resumed duties. He was in hospital for 16 weeks, but is now making a good recovery. A prominent supporter of the Wanganui Technical Old Boys’ Rugby Football Club, he was welcomed back to the club on Saturday, marking his first appearance at Spriggens Park since he was taken ill. Dr. Richard Morris,S. Taylor ana Mrs. Taylor have been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. S. Taylor, Wanganui. Dr. Taylor, who for some years has been first assistant at the Wellingon Dental Clinic and Training School for Dental Nurses, has been appointed superintendent of the new South Auckland Dental District, comprising the South Auckland, East Cape and Taranaki Health Districts. Dr. and Mrs. Taylor will take up residence in Hamilton next month.
