RESULTS AFTER FIRST ROUND The positions on the Wanganui Table Tennis Association’s ladder at the end o£ the first round are as follows: — Men's Ladder.—A. Healey 1, R. Parker 2, L. Connor 3, L. Garner 4, G. Ross 5, Nicholls 6, Byers 7. Bilderbeck 8, I. Ross 9, J. Dempsey 10, R. Stewart 11, J. Feist 12. Ladies’ Ladder.—O. Glover 1, E. Gillies 2, J. Glover 3, E. Nicholls 4, Feist 5, J. Smith 6, A. Smith 7, G. Marshall 8. First round results include: Parker won by default from Connor; Garner beat Ross, 21-14, 21-14; Nicholls beat Byers, 21-17, 21-17; Bilderbeck beat Ross, 21-15, 21-14; Stewart beat Feist, 21-19, 21-11. Ladies. —Miss Nicholls beat Miss Feist; Miss A. Smith beat Miss B White, 15-21, 21-19, 23-21. Second Round. The draw for the second round, which must be completed and results handed to the secretary by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31:—Parker v. Healey; Garner v. L. Connor; Nicholls v. G. Ross; Bilderbeck v. Byers; Dempsey v I. Ross; J. Fiske v. R. Stewart. Ladies.—E. Gillies v. O. Glover; E. Nicholls v. I. Glover; J. Smith v. Feist; G. Marshall v. A. Smith. At present no challenges have been received from any ladies to play number 8 position on the ladder. Unless winning players hand theii results to the secretary the ranking position is automatically reversed.
