TARANAKI'S NEXT MATCH SPRIGGENS PARK ON JUNE 6. Preparations Io play Taranaki al. Wanganui on June 6 were made by the Wanganui Rugby Union last riight at a meeting of the management commit tee. The match is to be played in the morning, commencing at 10.30, as a prelude to the Wanganui Trotting Club’s meeting, which starts at noon. Gate charges are to be the same as last year: Is 6d gate, Is stand, players 6d, secondary schools 6d, primary schools (marshalled), free. The selection committee was advised to assemble the team at Wanganui on Sunday, June 5, a recommendation being made that a run and team talk be arranged for on the afternoon of that day. Country players will oe qaurtered at the Federal Hotel. Mr. S. Ambrose (Wanganui) was appointed manager. Patrons to the Rugby match arc to be admitted to the trotting meeting free. The Railways Department advised that two special trains had been arranged for, one from south arriving at the ground at 10.7 a.m., and the other from north at 10.20 am. The Wanganui Garrison Baud is to provide a programme of music at lhe match and later a* the trots. Hot luncheon is to be available for both teams on the racecourse. Press privileges for the match were left in the hands of Mr. D. G. Strachan. A dinner is to be tendered the Taranaki team, this having Deen an annual custom extending over many years.
