CARD EVENING. ’ An enjoyable card evening was held at Miss Bailey s residence on a recent evening in aid of the Western Queen. The large drawing-room was attractively decorated with dahlias. All ’ three queens were present, Miss Fran- . cis Anderson wearing blue lace, Miss i J. Butler pink taffeta, and Miss R. , Hensen striped taffeta, while Mrs. R. ' Anderson, mother of the Western i Queen, was wearing black crepe marocain. Mr C. Eglinton won the . “500” competition and Mrs. R. Ander- ? son the bridge competition. MANAWATU COMPETITIONS. GENERAL. The school broke up for the term holidays on Friday and resumes on ' Monday, May 23. PERSONAL. Mrs. H. J.
