To give advice to motor-cyclists with the object of increasing road ■“.af tty, twelve patrols have been appointed by the motor-cyeling clubs in Christchurch. The patrols will watch for breaches of the regulations by
other motor-cyclists and point out to them in what way they have inj fringed the rules or caused a dangei Ito other users of the roads. The I patrols are purely for the assistance 1 of motor-cyclists, and will not see!< in any way to bring prosecutioni against offenders. The appointment of patrols followed a conference between the Minister of Transport (Hon. R. Semple* and representatives of the three clubs. Delegates from the clubs met last night and set up a combined motorcycle clubs road safety committee, ' which comprises three delegates from ; each city club, and it is probable that ; the Ashburton Club will also appoint I a member.
