BATTLESHIP LIMITATION
UNITED STATES DECISION. Received May 3, 5.5 p.m. WASHINGTON, May 1 The Senate has adopted an amendment to the Naval Bill tentatively limiting the battleship displacement to 35,000 tons, “Unless lhe President determined, through consultations with other naval Powers, to that tonnage limitation being exceeded.” Senator Vanderberg explained thii would prevent the United States from assuming the leadership in the world armament race. ■ ; t
