Second grade championship points are.—Kia Ora 4, Nga Toa 3, Marian 3, McKenzies 2, Technical Old Girls 2, Convent 1, Technical College 1, Glencoe 0. Notes on the Flay Nga Toa 14, v. Past Students 13 This game, played at Oueen's Park School court, was a must exciting game. Past Students were, perhaps, a little unlucky to lose against Nga Toa, last year’s champions. The game opened very brightly. Past Students were impressive with good passing movements, several splendid rallies ending with excellent combination work among the forwards, with the desiring results. L. Hodson, of Past Student forwards, was outstanding in this spell. Halftime came with the score 10-6, in favour of Past Students.
The second spell provided some excellent play from both teams, Nga Toa playing with much more vim and with five minutes to go the score was 11 all. The remainder of the game saw some most exciting play. Both teams were responsible for a little over-eagerness. The final whistle sounded, ending a most exciting game with the score reading; Nga Toa 11, Past Students 13. Mr. A. L. Rounthwaite was the referee. Tech. Old Girls 36, v. Tech. College 9 These teams met on the Technical College courts. Old Girls were much the better team on the day, although the school team were responsible for bright movements; the half-time score was 13-6. In the second half Old Girls played first-class basketball —team work displayed was of a very high standard, and the final whistle sounded with the score 36 to 9, in favour of Technical Old Girls. Mr. R. Francis was the referee. Convent 17, v. Y'.M.C.A. Club 9 This game, played at Queen's Park School, was a very inteiesting match. The Convent team were a bettei’ handling side than their opponents, and deserved their win. Y.M.C.A. indulged in far too much lob passing, and their handling was often «|t fault —many good movements breaking down from this cause. Mr. E. Lewis was the referee, Y.M.C.A. Gym. 15, v. Glencoe 1 Y.M.C.A. were much too good for their Tartan opponents in this game. The Gym. team opened up very brightly and soon had a 7-1 lead. This severse seemed to upset the Glencoe team, and Y.M.C.A. had command practically throughout the final whistle sounding with the score 15-1 in their favour. Mr. H. L. Rounthwaite was the referee.
