PERSONAL Mrs, D. Barrell has returned from a visit to Wanganui. Miss V. Knight has returned from Palmerston North. Mrs. Howard, Christchurch, is visiting her daughter, Miss Howard. Mangaweka. Mr. 11. Jacob has returned from a visit to Wanganui. GOLF The opening of the Mangaweka Golf Club was held during the weekend in excellent weather, Mr. D. Campbell, in declaring the season open, thanked Mr. Weston for the use o£ his property for the links, and stressed on the members that no gates or fences had to be used, only styles which had been erected for that purpose. He wished the members a very successful season. The men's competition was \Un by H. Bailey, J. O'Callaghan being the runner-up; the ladies' competition was won by Mrs. L. Bailey.
