ENJOYABLE DANCE There was a large number ui couples present at the Town Hall on Thursday night, to enjoy the dance organised by the junior branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, and the Young Farmers’ Club, and until an early hour dancing was enjoyed to the music of the Ji ville Midnight Revellers. POPPY DAY GOOD RESULTS THIS YEAR The local branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association held the annual: effort to raise funds by the sale of poppies on Thursday, and at the end of the day a substantial sum had been realised for the benefit of disabled soldiers. Those who assisted the branch by selling the poppies were Mrs. W. Shindler, and Misses George, P. Jones, E. Hirst, Mavis Hurley and J. Simpson. The sum of 116 14s lOm was realised. CROQUET CLUB’S SHOP The members of the local croquet club held a shop in the premises adjoining Messrs A H. Sutton, Ltd., on Thursday, and a large array of produce, etc., attracted good trade and the club benefited to a considerable extent. The ladies in charge of the shop were: Mesdames Lyall, J. M. Abel,. J. Dickie, V.*. C. fjmuh. A competition was Jk J son.
