PIPE BAND DANCE
The Wanganui Highland Pipe Band celebrated the reopening of their series of weekly dances on Saturday night at the Carlton Ballroom, when well over 160 couples graced the floor and had a most enjoyable time. The newly-decorated hall, with special floodlight and spotlight effects, evoked much favourable comment. The music was provided by the Masqueraders’ Swing Band and won frequent encores. Novelty dances and generous Monte Carlo prizes assisted to speed the happy hours, and Wanganui dance patrons will look forward to the second of the series, next Saturday , night.
