CRICKET CLUBS LOSSES
KENT MAKING STRINGENT ECONOMIES Kent County Cricket Club has lost £3600 on the last two seasons, and at the annual general meeting, at which J. R. Mason was elected president for 1938, members were told that stringent economies were necessary. All members will be asked to make a voluntary subscription in addition ti the usual sum they pay, and certain members who have in past years received two free tickets for friends will no longer get that privilege. The committee is of the opinion that the club will receive something like £2OO in extra “gate” if members’ friends pay. F. G. H. Chalk, who is to skipper the side, and the officials look forward lo a successful season.
