Mr H. B. de Lautour has been reeletced unopposed as Mayor of Taihape.

Mr H. J. Duigan was elected a life member at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Acclimatisation Society last evening. Mr Duigan resigned from the presidency after occupying the position for 17 years.

Mrs. H. P. Monkhouse, 8.A., has been appointed senior mistress on the staff of the Wanganui Technical College in the place of Miss J. Hume, who is leaving. Mrs. Monkhouse, who is a member of the staff of the Wanganui Girls’ College, previously taught at the Napier Girls’ High School and Takapau Grammar School.
