VICTORIA LEAGUE
YOUNGER SET SUCCESSFUL BRIDGE PARTY The first social gathering of the newly formed Younger Set of the Victoria League took the form of a bridge evening and was held in the Victoria League rooms on Wednesday night.
The buffet supper was served, and the members of the committee responsible for the arrangements were as follow:—Misses Margaret Brinkman (chairwoman), Lorraine Watkins (secretary), Joyce O'Neill (treasurer), Barbara Babbage, June Strouts, Sybil Ross, Jean Barton, Gertrude Adams, and Marjorie Peck.
Others present were: Misses O’Neill, Peggy Strachan, Lindsay and Joan Barstow, Marjorie Strode-Penny, Margaret Hansen, Betty Horsley, Jean Donald, Rosalind and Annette Sherriff, Nancy Hales, Fay Moffett, Margaret Hine, Jean Stewart (Christchurch), Alexis Campion, Mollie and Ailsa Mitchell, Joan Willis, Penrhyn Hutton, Joan Webster, Joan Carey, Stella Meuli, Joan Cooper, Kathleen Glenn, Joan Wilcott, Beth Pownall, Shirley Nancarrow, Joan Coull, Marsaile McDonald, Joyce Trevethick.
