WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The monthly meeting of the Bulls Women’s Institute was held on April 11. the president (Mrs. Huddleston) being in the chair and there being a large attendance of members. Masci am es Huddleston and Stewart were elected delegates to the North Wellington Federation Conference in Palmerston North. Mesdames Thorby and Jurgens were in charge of the trading stall. A flower competition resulted in a tie between Mrs. Wilson and Miss Richards. The committee were hostesses for the day. Next month’s competitions will be: (1) The best article made from a yard of cretonne and trimming, not to cost more than sixpence, and (2) specimen bloom.

A flower show was the feature of the day, the exhibits surpassing all expectations and many beautiful blooms being shown. The decorative classes were outstanding, the judge remarking that it was the best display she nad seen for a long time. Capstick, holders of the Pauli Feathers, retained the trophies in this week’s bowling match, defeating H. Burt and H. Stevens by 27 to 11. The game between Pearce, Amon and Drew and Capstick, Amon and Ingram resulted in scores being level at the end of t'ne 21st head. Two additional heads were played, Ingram gaining 4 on each, and winning by 35 to 27.

Members of the Rangitikei Ladies’ Golf Club will hold their opening day to-morrow, Thursday, when Canadian foursomes will be played.
