WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL PROHIBITION OF HEAVY TRAFFIC r rHE following resolution was passed r by the Waitotara County Council at the meeting held on April 12, 1938: “That in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the County By-Law No. 2, the Waitotara County Council iesolves and determines that owing to weather conditions the Rang’datau East-Watershed Highway and the Ahu Ahu Road shall, during May, June, July, August, and September of the year 1938, be unfit for Heavy Traffic exceeding the following weights, namely:— (a) The transportation of any engine, vehicle or machine which itself, or together with anything or things being transported thereon, weighs more than one and a-half tons avoirdupois to each pair of wheels. (b) The traction of any vehicle or thing by means of bullocks notwithstanding that such vehicle or thing may separately or together with any load thereon weigh less than one and a-half tons avoirdupois. (c) The transportation of any motor-vehicle, the weight of which with its maximum load exceeds three tons. The Council hereby order that Heavy Traffic exceeding the weight so determined for such time as aforesaid shall cease on the Rangitatau East-Watershed Highway and the Ahu Ahu Road.
