PLUNKET SOCIETY Mrs J. J. Johnston presided over the monthly meeting of the Waverley branch of the Plunket Society held in th* community rooms. Those present w*r»: Mesdames Currie, Graves, Boyne, Jefferies, Linehan and Stewart. Apologies were received from Mn F. Cunningham and Miss I. Cheyne.

The nurse’s monthly report was read and accepted. New cases were • mothers and 6 babies; visits to homes 6, days to rooms 9, adults to rooms 128, babies to rooms 119, older children 61; total 308. Correspondence was dealt with and arrangements were made for holding the annual meeting on April 26. WAVERLEY RACING CLUB A committee meeting of the above club was held on Thursday evening last. Among those present were Messrs J. E. Palmer, C. 11. Southcombe, W. Matthews, H. W. James, J. Newland, G. Aiken, G. Lupton, C. V. Pearce, D. R. Jackson, C. R. Honeyfield, J. J. Johnston, T. Lupton. Apologies were received from Messrs W. R. S. Brewer, I. D. Parsons and D. Lupton, for non-attendance. It was agreed to appoint Mr W. Hunter clerk of the course for the races to be held in April and October. It was resolved to accept Mr W. P. Wallace s quotation to install a loudspeaker

club be appointed to the same positions they held on race day in October. All arrangements for the hurdles were left in the hands of Messrs C. V. Pearce, G. Aiken and W. H. Watkins. It was decided that the selection of trophies be left In the hands of the president, secretary and Mr T. Lupton. It was decided that a meeting of the committee be called on Thursday, April 28. GENERAL Householders of the Waverlej School district are reminded of a meeting to be held in the Waverley School at 8 p.m. this evening. The result of the football match played on Saturday between the football and tennis clubs was a win foi the footballers by 12 to 3. PERSONAL Mrs J. Lourie, who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs A. J. Alexander, has returned to her home at Fern Flats, Marton. Mrs Caldwell, Dutban. South Africa, is the guest of Mrs C. Dickie, “Hayes."
