ALLEGED SECRET DOCUMENT
[By Telegraph—Pre l ® Association—Copyright] LONDON, April 10.
The Sunday Chronicle publishes what it describes as a secret memorandum written by high officers ol the German army, the discovery of which led to the recent army purge.
The statement complains that the new army was weakened by the participation in the Spanish war, and declares that every new German weapon of war i:as been rushed to Spain to be tested. The Russian ’planes and tanks proved superior to Germany’s.
It outspokenly criticises Herr Hitler’s policy, and says that the theory of smashing the enemy in one quick blow was exploded. Germany’s interference in Spain consolidated Britain, France, and Russia against Germany. The statement adds that Britain and France are strong enough to stop Italy and Germany in Spain if they want to.
