YOUNG NEW ZEALANDER CANADIAN AIR FORCE CRASH MONTREAL, Nov. 20. Flight-Lieutenant F. J. L. Taylor, of the Royal Canadian Air Force, a native of New Zealand, who was drowned when his land aeroplane somersaulted and sank in the Bay of Quinte near the Air Force training field at Trenton, Ontario. Lieutenant Taylor, whose parents live at Invercargill, was attempting to land his machine at the airport when a wingtip struck the water in a channel between Baker's Island and the mainland. “He apparently misjudged Ihc height of his ’plane owing to the glassy surface of the water," said an official statement issued by WingCommander A. E. Godfrey. “The ’plane sank immediately after turning over." Officers and men at the Air Force field saw the tragedy and succeeded in recovering the body in a short time, later raising the 'plane with a dredge.
