LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
“FATHERS’ NIGHT" PLEASANT FUNCTION The W.D.F.U. rooms presented a gay scene last evening, when the Wanganui Mothers’ League held a fathers’ night. Mrs. N. Driver, president of the league, welcomed those present in a brief address, and outlined the aims of the body. The programme was arranged by Mrs. Emmett, who also acted as accompaniste. Those who sang were Mrs. Vollemaere, Mrs. O. Warnock, Miss Merle Spurdie, and Mr. Ryan. Recitations were given by Mrs. F. Reid and Mr. Owen Warnock. An address, “The Citadel of the Home,” was given by Mr. F. W. Gilligan, M.A., and Mrs. Gilligan was presented with a delightful posy. This was the last meeting of the Mothers' League for the year and Christmas wishes of goodwill were extended. At the conclusion a dainty supper was served.
