Competing at the Dunedin Centre’s carnival, the first of the season there, R. Geddes, Otago's fastest breaststroke swimmer, won his first inter-club race for IQ years. As he is a constant performer his success was most popular with everybody and his time must nave been gratifying to him. In his heat he covered the 100 yards in 74 4-ssec., but his final time was eves better, being 74 The breaststroke swimmers who can approach these figures are very few and fai between and Geddes would appear tc be in the running once again for Next Zealand honours.
