TO COMBAT RECESSION
MEASURES IN AMERICA BUSINESSMEN’S DEMANDS FAILURE OF GOVERNMENT POLICIES Received Nov. 19, 11.50 p.m. NEW YORK, Nov. 18. An indication of what business is demanding from the administration was contained in an ad dress by Mr. Winthrop Aldrich, president of the State Chambers of Commerce. He made a charge that tile business recession was due to the Governmental policies. He proposed a return to the gold standard, a balanced budget, repeal of the undistributed profit* tax, modification of the capital gains tax, and freeing of public utilities from Government competition. Mr. Aldrich stressed the fact that a balanced budget was the keynote of the entire matter.
