The Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, announced the intention of the United States to negotiate an Anglo-American trade treaty and invited interested persons to submit suggestions concerning products the importation and export of which should be considered. Formal notice of ngeotiations will be issued at a later date, after the receipt of proposals from the United Kingdom, whereupon the United States will also draw up a list of products on which it might consider granting concessions to the United Kingdom. COMMONS PLEASED "DEFINITE STEP FORWARD” LONDON, Nov. 18. The Prime Minister, Mt. Neville Chamberlain, was greeted with applause from all parts of the House of Commons when he announced in reply to the Leader of the Opposition, that he was happy to state that the exploratory discussions regarding an Anglo-American trade pact had reached a point enabling the Governments concerned to announce that negotiations were contemplated. He added that this was a marked and definite step forward. A Washington report says that a pact will offset the anti-Comintern pact.
