Meteorological Office, Wellington, Friday, November 19, 3 p.m. General Situation.—A series of rather intense secondary depressions has continued to pass in the South but the last of the series is now approaching. An anti-cyclone over south-eastern Australia is now advancing on to t“% Tasman. Forecast.—Winds: Moderate to strong south-westerly to southerly, reaching gale force in places. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough generally. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong southerly winds with rough seas but conditions gradually moderating to-morrow. Weather: Still squally and changeable with intermittent and in places heavy rain. Some scattered hail showers probable, more especially in eastern and southern districts. Improving soon on the west coast of the South Island. Temperatures cold. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 3 hours 10 minutes. Rainfall. .84 inches. Temperatures: Maximum, 62deg. Fahr.; minimum, 47deg. Fahr.
