"WE HAD GOOD FUN LETTING OFF CRACKERS," SAYS "RAY OF SUNSHINE.”

Dear Wendy,—How are you and all your Ites? I’m sorry I have not written, but I haven’t had time to write x to anybody since October 21, because I was busy practising for my music exam. 1 did very well, as I gained 122 marks out of 150. 120 was honours, so I received two more marks than honours. Every week I have looked at your page, and meant to write. The weather hasn’t been very good, has it? It is chilly at nights. On the sth I went to a bon fire round th« road, and we had some good fun letting off crackers. There were some grown-ups there to let off our big crackers, such as sky-rockets and Roman candles. I have quite a nice little garden. 1 have parsnips, carrots, lettmces, turnips, and radishes up. The parsnips are not up yet, as they take about three weeks. It won’t be long before we can go to the swimming baths to swim. Nearly all the children go on Saturdays. I will close now. Love.—From “RAY OF SUNSHINE,” Marton Junction.

I fancy all our clan is well, thank you, dear. I am so pleased you have remembered us to-day, for I was a little afraid the Old Witch may have made off with you. Oh, but what a great success you made of your musical studies. I am so proud of you. For your diligence Sir Richard Elf has 1 confierred the Honourable Order of ' C.W.K. upon you.—Wendy.

“ISN’T IT WONDERFUL TO HAVfI OUR OLD “P.D.F.D.” BACK AGAIN,” SAYS “STELLA.” Dear Leader.—Once again I pick up the old pen to push over this page. We have been having glorious weather lately, haven’t we? The shearers will be glad to be finished the shearing if this weather keeps up much longer. Just imagine, Christmas is only a few weeks away. Isn’t it wonderful to have our old “P.D.F.D.” back in our jolly clan again? By the way, “P.D.,” do you really know who I am? As you say I am always smiling, but I can’t say I’ve seen you for a long time, that's if my shot at your identity is correct. Do you know a chap called Bluee and do you go bridge-building? Now, “Mr. X Junior,” I haven’t seen you out riding for a long while. Has your gee gee pegged out or something like that. “Our Little Boy,” you certainly looked happy while talking U “Laughing Lizzy” in the street oi Saturday night. “Unlucky Love,” did v I happen to get a glimpse of you in y slacks while talking to one of the big “Sisters” on Friday? Well, “Cuddle’s Chum,” I hope you enjoyed your trip to Mangamahu. Don’t you forget to write, will you? “Tottie,” I saw you in town with “L.L.” and “V.P.” on Saturday night. Dear old “Kelly the Great,” how are you. I certainly missed you at the talkies on Saturday. “Nelson Eddie,” won’t you give me * clue as to your identity. “Tomtitite” and “Fantailite” do you know me? I have a faint idea I saw you in town with “Sailor’s Sweetheart,” and “Poultry Maid’s Admirer.” Now, Wendy, as time flies I must do likewise. With oceans of love and kisses.—From “STELLA,” Hunterville. My goodness, yes, dear, it is so surprising to have the festival season sa close at hand. I expect everyone u busy making a selection of suitable gifts. It is lovely to nave “P.D.F.D.,” for I had begun to think the old Witch must surely have captured him and locked him in her dungeons. Gracious, but I’ll leave those concerned to answer the multiude of questions you ask.—Wendy.
