WESTERN FEDERATION CONSTITUTION AMENDED The following statement on the reorganisation of the constitution of the Western Federated (N. 1. Flying Club, which comprises the Wanganui and New Plymouth Aero Clubs, has been released by the committee of the Wanganui Aero Club:— “As from Sunday, November 14, 1937, the Wanganui and New Plymouth Aero Clubs have agreed to operate and control their own flying activities. This decision has been made in the interests of economy and for the more efficient work of the Western Federated Flying Club, with the purpose of giving added local interest to both clubs. “This means that the flying instructors on the staff will be stationed a*. Wanganui and New Plymouth and ui'J not travel from one aerodrome to the other. Mr lan Keith will be at New Plymouth and Mr H. L. Tam-red at Wanganui. The great advantage of this arrangement is that an uninterrupted plan of training of pupilscan be enjoyed by both clubs, “Each club will retain the revenue from the flying done under its control and pay all expenses. The Western Federated has nine pupils allocate*! for the Civil Reserve of Pilots. Five of these will be drawn from Taranaki and trained at New Plymouth and four will he drawn from the Wanganui district and trained at Wanganui. “The fleet and equipment of th«? Western Federated Flying Club remain the property of the dub. hut for the purpose of the new arrangement ZK—AFM (Miles Hawk) and ZK—AAX (Gipsy Moth) are being used by Wanganui and the Gipsy Moths ZK ACF and ZK—ABP by New Plymouth. “The resignation of Mr A. Salter from the position of chief ground engineer has left the club without a fully qualified engineer, but negotiations are now being made to fill Ih«s vacancy so that the fleet can still be serviced from the New Plymouth workshops, which are tire property of the Western Federated Flying Club. “Early in the nc-w year two Tiger Moths, one on loan free from the Air Department, another to be purchased by the cluh. will be added to the fleet and the two constituent clubs will be given one of these ’plant*? each. “The New Plymouth Aero Club has purchased ZK—ABB from lhe Hawke's Bay-East Coast Aero Club. 7his ’plane was slightly damaged recently and is being repaired by the New Plymouth Club and should be in the air at an early date. “The new scheme is to be reviewed by both clubs in six months’ lime from the date of the commencement of the scheme.”
