MOTOR ACCIDENT
TWO YOUNG MEN INJURED [ Ter Press Association. ] NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. IS. Severe injuries were suffered by George Duke, aged 24, and Lewis Blakely, aged 20, when a car driven by Duke crashed into a pile of timber beside the road, smashed a telegraph pole and ended up badly wrecked half a chain away. The accident occurred half a mile from Puniho at 12.30 o’clock this morning. The third occupant of the car, Allan Bailey, escaped with minor abrasions. Duke suffered skull injuries and shock and Blakely has a fractured thigh. The cat turned a double somersault, the left side and hood being torn off.
