CONVERSION OF CARS
TWO YOUTHS SENTENCED [ Per PrMa Association. 1 NAPIER, Nov. 17. Two youths, Robert George Durns and Leslie James Wedderspoon, recently sentenced to a term of imprisonment for the assault of a traffic officer near Wanganui, appeared in Court this morning to answer charges of the unlawful conversion of motor cars at Hastings and Gisborne, theft of gelignite detonators, fuse, and theft of a motor-cycle at Auckland. On the first two charges they were convicted and sentenced to three months’ imprisonment in Auckland gaol, the terms to be concurrent, but cumulative with the terms alreidy being served. On the second charge they are to come up for sentence within twelve months if called upon, and on the third they were remanded to Auckland to-morrow. A further charge of stealing a tent was withdrawn.
