RAIDS AT AUCKLAND
DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST. PAKAPOO AND GAMBLING. [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Nov. 16. Raiding three premises in the city simultaneously at 7 o’clock to-night, detectives made 14 arrests, including three Chinese, and seized a quantity of pakapoo tickets and gambling paraphernalia. The detectives had no difficulty in making their entries but large crowds gathered to watch the arrested men leave for the police station in the Black Maria. A special sitting of the Court was held later at the police station, all I lie accused being remanded.
