DANGERS OF ABORTION

REFERENCE AT FLUNKEY SOCIETY CONFERENCE t Per Presi Association. 1 WELLINGTON, Nov. 5. "It is questionable whether ths dangers of abortion are thoroughly known. In fact these dangers are being deliberately ignored because desperate women are prepared to risk their lives to get rid of unwanted children,” said Dr. M. B. M. Tweed, medical advisor to the Plunkct Society, speaking to a remit on this question at the annual conference which concluded at Wellington to-day.

The remit, which was submitted by the Auckland branch and which was adopted unanimously, was as follows: "That in view of the terrible findings of the McMillan report in the event of a Dominion-wide organisation being formed comprising churches and men's and women's societies whose objects are, (1) to have an educational campaign against the evils of abortion, and (2) to have the law for control of contraceptives and aoorUfacicnts amended, the Dominion conference of the Plunket Society expresses its sympathy with the aims of such an organisation and recommends its members to co-operate individually to the utmost with such a movement."
