KING GEORGE STATUE

SITE NEAR THE ABBEY LONDON, Oct. 27. King George V.’s statue is being erected on a site specially cleared near Westminster Abbey. It will be a bronze figure, ten feet high, in naval uniform and wearing Garter robes. The memorial fund has reached a total of £590,000, of which £391,000 has been allotted for playing fields throughout Britain, of which 1600 are under consideration.
