NGATI-KAHI NGUNU TRIBE DESCENDANT OF FIRST KING The death occurred at Huntly on Sunday of Tomoananui Hone WhareI mako, a chief ot the Hawke's Bay tribe, Ngati-Kahungunu, at the age of 68 years. Deceased was a direct de- | scendant of the first king produced by I the King Movement, Te Wherowhero. I Tomoananui Wharemako married a j Waikato chieftainess, and lived at Huntly for many years before his death. He is survived by his widow, two sons and a daughter. It is expected that at the tangi will be a large gathering of Maoris from Hawke's | Bay and surrounding districts.
