LAMB PRICES SLIGHTLY LOWER. The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week:—There is a moderate demand for wethers. The market for ewes has declined, and the demand is very poor. The demand for lambs is moderate; prices are a shade lower. There is a steady trade in chilled beef at somewhat better values. Wethers, light, 5 4-8 d to 53d per lb.; heavy, 4d to 42d. Ewes, 27-8 d to 4d. Lambs, 2’s, 7 5-Bd. to 73d; B’s, 72d to 7 5-8 d; 4’s, 6 7-8 d to 7d; seconds, 7 l-8d to 72d. Chilled hinds, 52d to 53d; chilled fores, 33d to 4d.
