THE MARTON SALE The New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Distributing Co., Ltd., report a small yarding of sheep and a good entry of cattle and pigs at their usual fortnightly sale held yesterday. All classes of stock were in demand, good Jersey bulls in particular being keenly competed for. We quote as follows:—Prime fat ewes in wool, 355; fat woolly hoggets, 34s 9d; forward shorn b.f. two-tooths, 24s 4d; Jersey cows at drop, £8; cows in profit, £2 10s to £5; fat cows, ex dairy, £4 to £5 12s 6d; forward cows, £3 8s; yearling heifers, £4; small two-year heifers, £4 2s; grade Jersey bull, £l3 ss; others, £5 7s 6d to £7; yearling bulls, £3 10s to £4. Best weaner pigs, 20s to 23s 6d; medium ditto, 14s; slips, 26s to 26s 6d; hay rake, £7 17s 6d. Macracapa strainers, 15s. Advertising can reduce selling costs and lessen the time in which a productmoves from factory to consumer.
