DESTROYED BY FIRE
British Ship in South China Sea MOST OF CREW MISSING (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) Received Oct. 25, 10.20 p.m. HONGKONG, Oct. 25. The British steamer Kaitangata was destroyed by fire in the South China Sea between Hongkong and Hainan Island. The vesse.’ sent a ireless message stating that the passengers and crew had jumped overboard. H.M.S. Thracian set out at full speed from Hongkong and found the Kaitangata burning from stem to stern. The master, four British officers and thirteen Chinese sailors have been rescued, but 26 are missing.
