Mr and Mrs G. F. Lomas, Campbell Street, spent the Labour week-end holiday in Wellington.

Miss D. Bayfield, of Eltham, has been spending Labour week-end in Wanganui. Mrs K. Lynch and Miss M. Lynch, of Levin, were week-end visitors to Wanganui. Miss G. Fountaine, Wanganui, spent the week-end with her parents at Eltham. Miss Linda White, of Hamilton, paid a short visit to her parents, Mr and Mrs C. R. White, Cumbrae Place, during the week-end. Miss Fookes, Taihape, was a weekend visitor to Wanganui. Mrs R. G. Toswell, Wellington, is visiting Wanganui. Mr and Mrs A. R. Donaldson, Sargeant Street, Wanganui, are spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs Adam Hamilton, of Kaitieke, is a visitor to Wanganui and is the guest of Mrs A. Hogg, Boydfiela Street. Mrs J. Howie, St. John's Hill, has been spending the week-end with heineice, Mrs Phil Martin, Te Tui, Wanganui River. Shirley Temple, the child film star, is to go on a four-months’ trip round the world, ostensibly on vacation, but actually so that she can be seen “in person” by every country claiming her as “box-office favourite No. 1.” Mrs W. G. Ayton, of Ipoh, Malaya, is on her way to New Zealand via New Guinea. She will arrive in the Dominion on November 9 and will first visit the south. Mrs Ayton, who was formerly Miss Aslin, of Dunedin, will spend some months in New Zealand. Her husband will join her early in the New Year and they will then visit England.
