Forecast.—Winds: Rather variable and, in many places, strong with south-east to north-east predominating at first, later northerlies becoming more general. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight to moderate north of East Cape and on the east coast of the South Island, but elsewhere rather rough to rough. Eastern Tasman: Moderate to strong northerly winds predominating, with rather rough seas. Weather: Mainly cloudy to overcast and unsettled with rain at times in most districts, some heavy falls being probable in central provinces. Temperatures moderate.
