The following candidates from the Western Federated Flying Club have been accepted by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, for training in the Civil Reserve of Pilots: C. N. Whittington, T. D. Webster. M H. Andrew, A. G. Merewether, L B. McCarthy and A. S. Ballingall.

Messrs A. J. Murdoch, chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Board, A. Linton (middle ward representative), T. C. Brash (secretary), and C. M. Hume (herd testing supervisor) were visitors to Wanganui. They attended a conference of the Wanganui ward last evening and were to leave for the Taranaki district early this morning.

At a ward conference in Wanganui last evening, Mr T. Alexander, chairman of directors of the Okoia Cooperative Dairy Company, was appointed as a delegate to the annual conference of the New Zealand Dairy Board to be held in Wellington next February or March. Congratulations on his appointment were extended to Mr Alexander by the chairman, Mr A. Linton (representative of the middle ward on the board).

Mr T. A. Moodie, of Wellington, and late of Napier, has been appointed a member of the New Zealand Wool Committee in succession to the late Mr G. Black, of Wellington. Mi Moodie, who was manager of Messrs Dalgety and Company’s Napier branch, was recently appointed the firm’s superintendent, succeeding to that post on Mr Black’s death. Hu appointment to the New Zealand Wool Committee appeared in last night’s Gazette.
