FARMERS ANXIOUS
DRY SPELL IN MANAWATU 1 Per Press Association. ] PALMERSTON N., Oct. 21. Owing to lack of rain in recent weeks, coupled with easterly winds having a drying effect on pastures which have failed to show the normal spring growth, farmers in several parts of the Manawatu and adjacent districts are seriously concerned over the futtre supplies of feed. Dairy st£»ck are now coming into full production and it is feared that there will be a considerable check on this if rain does not come within the next few days. Some settlers near the coast are now obliged to carry water from streams and springs for domestic purposes.
