GRAFT IN TRADING
EASTERN PUNITIVE MEASURES. Received Oct. 20, 5.5 p.m. SINGAPORE, Oct: 19. Bribery and secret commissions which have been part and parcel of Eastern trading for thousands of years will disappear if a Bill to be introduced in the Legislative Council of the colony is passed. The Bill, which is "in the interests of commercial and public morality,” provides for a maximum punishment of seven years and a line of 500 dollars.
