TRAGIC ERROR
WOMAN’S DEATH FROM BURNS. EVIDENCE AT INQUEST. [ Per Press Association. ] MASTERTON, Oct. 19. An inquest was held to-day concerning the death of Mrs. Isabell Jackson, who was fatally burned in a fire at her home on the morning of October 6. The coroner, Mr. E. G. Eton, returned a verdict of death from shock and severe burns. The evidence showed that the fire was caused through an electric iron being left on in mistake for a radiator, and when the latter was seen to be out it was concluded that the switch had been turned off. The late Mrs. Jackson was a wellknown and highly-respected resident, at one time being Mayoress and a prominent social worker.
