FROZEN MEAT TRADE
MARKET GENERALLY WEAKER The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week: Larger supplies of wethers have caused prices to weaken. There is only a poor demand for ewes. The demand for lambs is moderate and the market is rather easier. Trade in chilled beef is slow. Wethers, light, 42d to 5 7-8 d per lb; heavy, 4d to 4 5-8 d; ewes, 3d to 4 l-8d; lambs, 2’s, 7Sd to 7 7-8 d; B’s, 7 5-8 d to 7«d; 4’s, 7d to 7 l-8d; seconds, 7id to 7 3-8 d; chilled hinds, 5d to s id; chilled fores, 3id to 3id.
