£12,500 DAMAGES
AWARD TO LORD CAMROSE. LIBEL BY FASCIST PAPER. LONDON, Oct. 15. Lord Camrose was awarded £12,500 damages and the Daily Telegraph £7500 from Sir Oswald Mosley’s Fascist newspaper Action on the grounds that the paper suggested that Lord Camrose was unscrupulous, unpatriotic, and a Jewish financier, and that he was running the Daily Telegraph in the interests of Jewish finance. Lord Camrosv denied that he was a Jew or of Jewish extraction, and said he was pure Welsh. He was not a financier, and the shareholders in the company which owned the Daily Telegraph \>ere his brother (Lord Kemsley), Lord Iliffe, and himself.
