COLLIERY EXPLOSION
DISASTER IN AMERICA Received Oct. 17, 8.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 16. A Mulgaala message states that 35 men working at the lowest level in the coal mine were killed by a terrific explosion, which was believed to be Cue to gas. The authorities said that the exact cause would probably never be known. All the bodies, most of which were burned, were recovered. There was a single known survivor, who was working some distance from his comrades. Wives and children gathered at the entra r je but their hopes were quickly dispelled by a telephone report from Vie rescue party.
